THE DISSECTION

The actual dissection itself is much more complex than what we are shown on tv and involves incredibly meticulous examinations. As it is the main part of an autopsy the dissection can be extensive and take several hours depending upon the extent of injury or difficulty in finding definitive answers. Dissection also involves many steps and procedures to document everything and thoroughly check for abnormalities.
